Series ticker
Also called series · event ticker
Kalshi's identifier for a family of recurring markets, and the prefix of every market ticker inside it.
Kalshi identifiers are hierarchical: a series names a recurring family of questions, an event ticker pins that family to a specific occasion, and a market ticker pins it to a specific outcome or bucket within the occasion. A daily high-temperature series for one city produces a new event every day, and each event contains one market per temperature bucket.
The prefix structure is load-bearing in practice, not cosmetic. This site derives a print's series by splitting its market ticker on the first hyphen, which is what lets the flow heatmap roll thousands of individual prints up into the handful of series that actually carry the session's activity. Series is usually the right unit for the question of where informed money is working; a single market is too small a sample to say anything.
It also anchors cross-venue matching. The arbitrage scanner pairs Polymarket markets to Kalshi ones through a hand-curated alias table keyed on the series, rather than by fuzzy title search, because a wrong pairing produces a confident number about two different questions — the worst possible failure for a tool people size positions from. Curated series in, verified pairs out.
